5.2.2 Electrical interface
The cable of the digital Hall module should be connected to the con-
troller according to table 5.6. The module itself is delivered without a
connector. There is specific tooling required to mount a connector to
the cable, please verify with your connector supplier what tooling is
required. Figure 5.5 shows the signals from the digital Hall module
over the full magnet pitch of 24 mm.

Stainless steel cover
Be careful! The stainless steel cover could have sharp edges, wear
protective gloves while handling the cover.
The magnet track does not provide a physical earth connection to the
stainless steel cover. Create an effective protective earth connection
according to the machine directives before operation.
The stainless steel cover for the magnet track can be used to avoid
contamination of the magnet track by dust particles. For installing
this cover, you will need:
■
protective gloves for handling the cover;
■
cutters for trimming the leftover cover;
■
multimeter for checking the protective earth connection.
Because of the high magnetic forces, the cover will adhere firmly to
the magnet plates. Placing the cover is easily performed by rolling off
the flexible cover. Removing the cover is best performed by rolling it
up. These procedures can best be performed by two persons. The fol-
lowing steps are indicating the installation procedure:
1. Move the slide to one end of the stroke to clear the major part of
the magnet track (1). Unroll the cover over the cleared magnet
track (2), see figure 5.6.
