Securing a child seat using the seat belt
Please refer to

If a universal (u) type child seat is to be used in
the vehicle, ensure that the child seat is approved
for use in the corresponding seat. The necessary

Secure a child seat with the seat belt
– Observe the instructions
and using child seats.
– Ensure that the seat belt is properly worn or
threaded according to the child seat manufac-
turer's instructions.
In an emergency
Making you and your vehicle safe
When a vehicle breaks down, be sure to strictly
follow the relevant safety regulations. For exam-
ple, many countries require the use of hazard
warning lights and high-visibility waistcoats
when a vehicle breaks down
Checklist
To ensure the safety of you and all occupants of
the vehicle, please follow the following se-
quence
:
1. Park your vehicle on a suitable surface away
from the main lane

– Do not twist the seat belt.
– Insert the latch into the seat belt latch of the
respective seat and hear the latch stick.
6. All occupants must exit the vehicle and wait
in a safe place, for example, behind a safety
barrier. Be aware of national regulations re-
garding high-visibility waistcoat.
7. Always take all vehicle keys with you when
you leave the vehicle.
8. The warning triangle is set up in the corre-
sponding position to attract the attention of
drivers of passing vehicles.
9. Cool the engine sufficiently. Seek expert as-
sistance if necessary.
When the hazard warning lights are switched on,
for example if you are being towed, you can still
indicate a change in direction or lane change by
operating the turn signal. The hazard warning
lights will be interrupted temporarily.
Switch on the hazard warning lights, e.g. in
the following situations:
– When traffic ahead suddenly slows down or
you reach the tail end of a traffic jam to warn
vehicles behind you.
– In case of emergency.
