Wear of spring-operated brakes

The friction lining and the mechanical components of the brake are subject to wear due to their
inherent function. For safe and fault-free operation, the brake must be regularly checked and
adjusted, and if necessary, replaced.
The following table describes the different causes of wear and their effects on the spring-
operated brake components. The important influencing factors have to be quantified in
order to calculate the service life of the rotor and the brake and determine the stipulated
maintenance intervals. Here, the most important factors are the work as a result of the
