Every two minutes the charger signals the current desulpha on status with two short "BEEPs".
By pressing and holding "START/STOP" the charger stops desulpha on.
A bu on: The right bu on "A" sets the current between 5 A and 90 A. Repeated pressing increase
the values available on the panel.
Se ng the charge dura on: The TimeOut func on permits se ng the charge dura on.
Before connec ng the ba ery, press the 'V' bu on and the 'A' bu on in sequence to enter
the TimeOut menu. Repeated pressing of the 'V' bu on select the total number of hours of charging,
from 5 to 18 hours. Too short charging may not allow the ba ery to be fully charged.
The se ngs for voltage, current, ba ery technology and meout are stored only when a ba ery
is connected and charging begins.
The charging process has five phases:
1 - Analisys. When the ba ery is connected, the ba ery is analysed.
2 - Bulk. Ini al charging phase at constant current.
3 - Absorp on. Constant voltage charging phase in which the current absorbed by the ba ery drops.
4 - Condi oning. Op onal deep charge phase.
5 - Floa ng. Final charge phase in buffer, an op onal alterna ve to equaliza on.
The following graph shows the voltage (in red) and current (in black) during the charging phases.
To connect the charger to a mains, use the output cable by plugging its plug into a suitable grounded
socket. Avoid the use of extension cords. The socket to which the charger will be connected must be
propor onal to its power and must have fuses or other standard protec on built in.
Check the nameplate data about
V~(supply voltage), KVA (power) and A~(supply current).
Ensure correct earth connec on.
Any replacement of the power cable must be carried out by competent and authorized personnel.
To connect the charger to the ba ery there are two output cables, one posi ve (+) red and one
nega ve (-) black. Be careful not to reverse the cables when connec ng them to the ba ery terminals:
if this happens, the fault will be indicated on the display by a blinking ba ery symbol.
