How to operate
• Remove the front cover [1]
• Remove the used ribbon.
• Clean the rubberized ribbon roller [R1] using alcohol to have a good grip with the ribbon.
• Insert the empty cardboard core [a] with biadhesive layer on shaft [A1] and the ribbon core [b]
on shaft [A2].
• Unwind the ribbon from the full core and pass it around the ribbons, as shown in figure.
• Wrap the ribbon tail around the empty core to have a grip with the biadhesive layer. If there is
no bi-adhesive on the empty core, fix the ribbon to the core using added adhesive.
• Insert the front cover [1].
• Wait the automatic ribbon feed operation to extend the thermal ribbon and to avoid wrinkles.
• Set the printer READY.
• Restart the packaging line.
NOTE: for 110mm and 130mm wide ribbon it is necessary to insert ring
spacers (code 49KS0201 and 49KS0200) on the shafts. XTOXL requests to
have ribbon centered to the print head.
The thermal ribbon reserve condition is reported on the basis of the diameter of the ribbon recovery
reel and is always visible on the page "Production view" of the Printer software (see Chapter
"Product Description - OPERATING PANEL" of this manual).
To ensure good print, always clean the print head before fitting a new
ribbon to the printer.
