10 Packing and Transportation

To un-install the 151D:
1. Issue a Lock command from the DAS in the Sensor>Control Menu. Confirm the masses
are locked by reading the mass position voltages, they should be ~12V.
2. Disconnect the cable ((R-180-C021-XX) from the 151D.
3. Remove the optional cover.
4. Before moving the 151D over a long distance be sure to pack the seismometer in the
provided shock-absorbing shipping container.
5. Do not place the 151D package on its side or upside-down when shipping.
Be careful when moving the 151D, because the mechanical and
electronic components are so precise that they cannot tolerate high
amounts of impact and vibration.
: If the 151D seismometer is going to be shipped via a
WARNING
commercial shipping company, REF TEK recommends strapping the 151D
box to a pallet. This helps to ensure that the 151D will remain upright
during transportation
