Extraction Efficiency
Under optimal conditions the Wartmann® nut oil press will
extract up to 80% of the oil that is available in the raw
material. Raw materials that have an oil percentage that is
lower than 10% can't be used.
Oil percentages in nuts
The result of the pressing is largely determined by the qual-
ity of the nuts and seeds. The oil percentage in nuts and
seeds strongly varies per type. A rough indication of the oil
percentage per type can be found in the table below:
Oil percentage in seeds
Rapeseed and some types of sunflowers are grown espe-
cially for industrial oil production, for instance bio fuel.
Therefore the oil percentage may vary, depending on the
purpose for which they are grown. The oil percentage
in sunflower seeds varies from 30% to 50%, the oil per-
centage in rapeseed from 40 to 50%. Linseed has an oil
percentage of about 40%.
