    Follow this instruction manual and clean your Wartmann® sous vide device regularly for many years of sous vide cooking pleasure. For an optimal cooking result we advise the use of vacuum bags and a vacuum device. Wartmann® delivers various vacuum devices and vacuum bags to suit your needs.

In case of (semi)-professional or incorrect use, usage not in accordance with the instructions in the manual, or self-performed repairs, the warranty expires and Wartmann® will decline any responsibility for any damage caused by this.     PREPARATIONS For sous vide cooking you’ll require some additional tools beside the sous vide device. Water container You will need a water container, such as a polycarbonate container, a high pan or even a bucket. The container should be capable to withstand temperatures of up to 100 degrees (boiling water) for an extensive period of time.

    Control Buttons The device can be operated with just two buttons and a rotary wheel: On/Off- and Start button. Select button to select between to be set temperature and duration (hours, minutes). The select button also starts the cooking programme. Rotary wheel to set the required temperature and duration.

    USING THE SOUS VIDE DEVICE Attach the sous vide device Select a proper water container with a minimal depth of 15 centimetre. Place the water container on a stable, horizontal surface where it can’t fall off, not even when somebody passes by. Place the device in the container and attach it firmly with the spring clamp to one of the sites of the container.

    Switch on the sous vide device Check that no one can stumble over the power cord. If necessary use an extension cord with grounded terminals. Plug the power cord into a grounded power socket. The control panel may shortly light up. Now switch on the device by pressing the On/Off button for 5 seconds.

    Your sous vide cooking is ready When the required duration is reached you will hear a peep tone that repeats every 3 seconds. Your ingredients are now ready. The water temperature will stay at the set temperature and the duration will continue until you actually press the On/Off button.

    AFTER USE Power down Press at least 5 seconds on the On/Off button to switch the device off. The control panel will go dark. You may hear a low noise indicating that the device is still cooling off. Wait at least three minutes and then remove the plug from the wall socket.

    MAINTENANCE Proper use and periodic maintenance of the sous vide device is necessary to guarantee the expected life-time and a proper operation. Please stick to the following recommendations:  Never place a hot sous vide device in cold water. It is advised to first let the sous vide device cool down until its temperature matches the water temperature.

    DESCALING Why descaling Tap water contains minerals such as Calcium and Magnesium. Heating this water results in scale deposits on the thermostat and the heating element of the sous vide machine. As a result the heater may not work efficiently and the water pump may get blocked. The sous vide machine should therefore be descaled regularly.

    RECYCLING THE SOUS VIDE DEVICE Once the sous vide device is at the end of its life cycle you can deliver it to a collection point for the recycling of electrical equipment. The sous vide device should not be disposed of along with regular household rubbish.
