Introduction

This guide covers the installation, operation, and configuration of the Extron PVCA 452 VoiceLift Amplifier.
NOTES:
Throughout this guide, the term "controller amplifier" is used interchangeably to refer to the PVCA 452.
In this guide, where used, the generic term "12 VDC power supply", refers to the 12 VDC, 50 Watt, 4.2
Amp power supply ONLY, as supplied by Extron.

About the PVCA 452

The PVCA 452 is an audio and VoiceLift controller amplifier designed for classroom applications. It features an
integrated high performance control processor for centralized AV control and a powerful 2-channel 50W amplifier.
The PVCA 452 is equipped with the following inputs:
Digital optical TOSLINK input
VoiceLift input
Stereo analog audio input
Aux mono audio input
The controller amplifier incorporates DSP audio processing which provides advanced control of ducking and other
audio features. The device can mix up to three audio input sources, and it features a built-in control processor to
control displays and other devices via IR, bidirectional RS-232, or Ethernet. Additional ports include general
purpose digital I/Os, and an eBUS port for eBUS button panels and endpoint devices.
The PVCA 452 can be controlled via the front panel USB-C config port, or the rear LAN port. Configuration is
accomplished using Extron's PCS software for A/V configuration and Global Configurator Pro/Plus (GCP)
software for control configuration.
Firmware upgrades can also be made using the USB-C configuration port, or remotely over the network by
connecting to the rear panel LAN port.
The controller amplifier is also equipped with ethernet control via the rear panel LAN ports. With the Audio
Streaming LinkLicense upgrade enabled, the PVCA 452 is capable of decoding network streamed audio from the
Extron Campus Communication Suite (CCS) web-based application software.
The PVCA 452 has one HDMI output for CEC Control and ARC (Audio Return Channel), an amplified audio
output, and a line out audio output for assistive listening or recording devices.
