    This NAS also comes preinstalled with one or two non-ECC memory modules. To provide extra protection from undetected data corruption, you can upgrade to ECC memory modules.     Check the value for Total memory. Installing PCIe expansion cards The NAS supports selected expansion cards, some of which require QNAP PCIe brackets. QNAP-branded expansion cards purchased from the company website are shipped with the brackets necessary to fit all QNAP NAS models.

QNAP recommends always using dual-path configuration to prevent storage downtime due to expansion unit failure or cable disconnection. Single-path configuration should be used only in a situation where it is not possible to use dual-path configuration.

    You can also install the QNAP QTS operating system. If your NAS is connected to the internet, the option to install QTS will appear in the Smart Installation Guide wizard using any of the methods in the table. You can also manually download the QTS firmware from https://download.qnap.com.

Warning Initializing QuTS hero deletes all data on the drives.
