Cylinder Head - Suzuki LT-Z400 2003 Service Manual

• Install the cam chain guide
CD.
NO TE:
Make sure that the guide
CD
is
inserted properly or binding of the
cam chain and guide may result.
• Install the dowel pins

and new gasket @.

CAUTION
I
Use a new cylinder head gasket to prevent gas leak-
age.
CYLINDER HEAD
• With the head snugly seated on the cylinde r, secure
it
by
tightening the bolts in diagonal stages. T ighten the cyli nder
head bolts diagonally to the specified torque.
~ Cylinder head bolt
NOTE:
Inllial: 25 N·m (2.5 kgf-m , 18.0 Ib-It)
Final: 46 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.5Ib-It)
• Apply engine oil to the threaded parts of the cylinder head
bolts and its washers.

Be sure to install the washer with rounded side facing up.
• After tightening the cylinder head bolts to specification , tighten
the cylinde r head bolts
CD
and cylinder nuts (2) to the specified
torque.
~ Cylinder head
boll: 10 N·m (1 .0 kgf-m, 7.0 Ib-It)
Cylinder nul: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0 Ib-It)
