246 Driving and parking
In case of longer downtimes, switch off the
R
vehicle with a charge status of the high-volt-
age battery between 30 % and 50 %. Do not
permanently connect the high-voltage battery
to a power supply.
If leaving the vehicle idle for lengthy periods,
R
avoid high outside temperatures wherever
possible.
Every six weeks check the charge level of the
R
high-voltage battery (
page 265).

Make sure to charge the high-voltage battery if
R
the charge level is below 20 %.
Do not disconnect the 12 V battery even if the
R
vehicle is left unused for a lengthy period. Oth-
erwise the condition of the vehicle's high-volt-
age battery cannot be monitored.
You can contribute to reducing the vehicle's
energy consumption in the following ways:
An anticipatory driving style (
R
Reduced use of electrical consumers
R
Having the vehicle regularly serviced
R
During the battery life the charge time of the high-
voltage battery may change.

Depending on the national version, your vehi-
cle is equipped with one of the following vehi-
cle sockets.
You can charge the high-voltage battery with
both alternating current (mode 2/3) and
direct current (mode 4).
