SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

General precautions
Please read this manual carefully before using the machine.
Be thoroughly familiar with the chainsaw's controls and how to use it properly. Failure to follow instructions can lead to physical injury.
The chainsaw is specifically designed for tree care and work off the ground and as such it should only be used by trained operators.
The chainsaw may not be operated with one hand unless it is being used on the tree by a licensed operator. Use both hands to operate the chainsaw in any
other occasion.
Be alert for the bar and chain "skating" or "bouncing" and for potential kickback risk.
Maintain good balance and secure footing. At the end of the cut, be careful to keep your balance due to the "drop".
When working off the ground, the operator must be trained in safe climbing techniques and use of all recommended safety equipment such as harness, loops,
ropes and karabiners for himself and for the chainsaw.
When lifting a chainsaw using a rope attached to a lifting hook for tree operation, make sure that the lifting hook is not stressed by excessive force.
Never work alone when you are using a chainsaw. Make sure to have someone remain within calling distance in case you need help.
NOTE: If you have any questions or other problems, please contact your local dealer or an authorised service center.
Physical condition
Do not operate when ill or tired, or under the influence of any substance which could affect your vision, dexterity or judgment. (e.g. alcohol).
You should be in a good physical and mental state in order to handle your chainsaw safely. Errors in judgment or execution can cause serious injury.
In case of any physical ailment that may be aggravated by strenuous work, always consult your doctor before using a chainsaw.

Protective equipment

Always wear approved safety goggles to protect your eyes. Woodchips, dust, snapping branches and other debris can be thrown from the cutting chain towards
the operator's face.
To avoid the risk of further injury to your face, it is recommended that you also wear a face shield or face screen over your goggles or protective glasses.
If conditions require the use of a ventilated face shield, goggles should be worn underneath it.
Wear sound barriers (ear plugs or ear mufflers) to help protect your hearing. Continual and regular users should have their hearing checked regularly.
Be particularly alert and cautious when wearing hearing protection because your ability to hear warnings (shouts, alarms, etc.) is restricted.
Never wear loose clothing, unbuttoned jackets, flared sleeves an d cuffs, scarfs, tie stri ngs, neckties, chain s, jewelry, etc. which could becom e caught on
branches, brush or the moving parts of the chainsaw. Always secure hair above shoulder level.
Clothing must be sturdy and of protective material. It should be snug fitting but allow complete freedom of movement. Trousers should not be flared or cuffed,
and should be either tucked into your boots or trimmed short.
Safety vests, overalls, long pants or chaps that contain pads of cut-retardant material can also be worn to reduce the risk of cut injuries. It is the operator's
responsibility to wear additional protection if conditions warrant it.
Always wear an approved safety helmet or cap when working with a chainsaw to reduce the risk of injury to your head from falling branches or debris. Wear
heavy duty, non-slip gloves for improved grip and for protection against cold and vibration.
Wear sturdy boots with nonslip soles. Steel-toed safety boots are recommended. Never wear sandals, flip-flops or go barefoot.
Select and use eye protection and protective clothing, including gloves and shoes suitable for tree climbing.
CAUTION: It is not recommended to fill your ears with any form of cotton materials.
Fueling
Warning: Fuel and oil are extremely flammable. Serious personal injury and/or ignition can occur when gasoline is spilled. Extreme caution is required,
when handling gasoline or any type of fuel.
Use an appropriate type fuel containers, approved for flammable liquids.
Do not smoke or bring flame or sparks near fuel supplies or the unit.
Eliminate all sources of sparks or flame in areas where fuel is mixed, poured or stored.
Make sure the unit is properly assembled and in good operating condition before fuelling.
The fuel tank may be under pressure. Always loosen the fuel cap and wait for pressure to be equalized before removing the cap.
When fuel tank cap or oil tank cap is difficult to remove by hand, put the attached socket wrench into the groove of cap and turn it anticlockwise.
NOTE: Do not press socket wrench forcefully. Pressing forcefully can damage the tank cap. If tank cap is damaged, do not start the engine and contact your local
