With the AFM recording, wide dynamic range can be obtained which makes it
possible to get high quality sound under severe conditions.
The conventional recording on longitudinal track also improves the frequency
characteristics and reduces distortion using a metal tape.

During recording, the luminance playback picture can be monitored through the
viewfinder. The two CTDM chrominance signals can also be monitored separately. This
is useful for confirming if the recording has been made correctly.

Playback picture can be monitored through the viewfinder in black and white. Using
the optional playback adaptor VA-5O0P, playback picture can be monitored through the
TV or color monitor in color.
