Press the (MENU/EXE> button.

Press the <MENU/EXE> button to erase the

frames and the <¥>button to exit erase

mode without erasing the frames.

When you erase all the frames in a directory, the directory number is still

retained. (™>P.47)

Images shot subsequently are recorded in the directory with the highest

saved directory number.

Format (Initialize)

Formatting erases all the frames on the SmartMedia card, including any protected

frames (=>P.57), and formats the SmartMedia.

YIMPORTANT

Always use the camera to format a SmartMedia.

Set the Mode dial to [ ș ].

The menu screen appears.

If the frame number memory (>P.46) option is on [CONT] when frames are erased

(using Erase Frame, Erase All or Format), the directory number is retained. Image

shot subsequently are recorded in the directory with the highest saved directory

number, with frame numbers continuing from the highest file number used in that

directory before the erase/format operation.
