Cleaning Canister
Filter
The Model G0966 uses air pulse technology to
remove metal chip particles from the canister filter
pleats. A new filter will produce 2" of water or less
of vacuum pressure. As the dust collector is used
and the filter traps more particles, the vacuum
pressure will gradually increase. The filter is con-
sidered effective when operating up to 6" of water
(see Figure 33).

Clean the canister filter using AIR PULSE CLEAN
button daily, or when vacuum pressure increases.
When the vacuum pressure nears 6" of water and
will no longer decrease after being cleaned with
the AIR PULSE CLEAN button, the filter must
be replaced. For detailed instructions, refer to
Replacing Canister Filter on Page 27.
To reduce the risk of dust exposure, DO
NOT clean canister filter with AIR PULSE
CLEAN button unless maintenance door is
closed and latched.

To clean canister filter:
Turn dust collector OFF.

Connect compressed air hose to air port (see

Figure 34).
IMPORTANT: To avoid damage to machine,
do not exceed 90 PSI of air pressure.

Repeat Step 3 1–2 more times.

Allow dust to settle for at least 30 seconds,

then empty dust tray (refer to Emptying Dust
Tray on Page 27).
Turn dust collector ON to ensure vacuum

pressure is within normal operating range.
