Backlapping the Cutting Units (continued)
2. With the Mow/Transport lever in the M
Mow/Lift control forward to start the backlapping operation on the designated reels.
3. Apply lapping compound with a long-handled brush.
Contacting the cutting units when they are moving will result in death or serious
injury.
To avoid personal injury, ensure that you are clear of the cutting units before
proceeding.
Never use a short-handled brush.
4. If the reels stall or become erratic while backlapping, select a higher reel speed setting
until the speed stabilizes, then return the reel speed to your desired speed. This can be
done using the buttons on the InfoCenter display.
5. If you need to make an adjustment to the cutting units while backlapping, perform the
following steps:
A. Move the Lower Mow/Raise lever rearward and press the PTO switch to disengage
the PTO.
B. Shut off the engine and remove the key.
C. Adjust the cutting units.
D. Repeat steps

Finishing Backlapping
1. Move the Lower Mow/Raise lever rearward and press the PTO switch to disengage the
PTO.
2. Shut off the backlap functions using the buttons on the InfoCenter display.
If you do not return the backlap function to the O
cutting units do not raise or function properly.
3. Shut off the engine and remove the key.
4. Wash all lapping compound off from the cutting units.
5. For a better cutting edge, run a file across the front face of the bedknife after lapping.
