Switching On-Screen Display On/Off < *
Using menu selection, you Ccin 'Ixirn off the camcorder status display during playback, and turn it on again
afterwards.
J Set the CAM/OFF/VIDEO switch to VIDEO.
2 Press the MENU button.

button to select "DIS¬
PLAY".
^ Press the RE'VV' or FF but¬
ton to select the desired
mode:
LCD: Information on the tape remaining, time
counter, etc. is displayed on the LCD monitor.
LCD/LINE: kl is dispLiyed beside the time
counter ("Memory Feature", p45). When LCD/
LINE is specifled, you can view the information
in the memory displayed on the LCD monitor,
which, -will be superi,mposed on the playback
picture seen on the connected TV.
OFF: Information on tape remaining, time
counter, etc. is not displayed.
■ M ote: The battery remaining power ievei will be
displayed when you use a battery pack as a
power supply,
Mote: The date 'Ond recording status are dis¬
played on the LCD monito-r.
5 Press the MENU button.

Use the menu screen to set the playback m.ode (tape format).

With some Hi8/8 recorded tapes, H-i8/8 may
not be automatically detected: -In this case, select
the option Hi8/8.
C Press the MENU bu.tto;n.
Note: Specify "PB MODE AUTO" to play back
Digital 8 recorded tapes. If "PB MODE HiS/S" is
specified with these tapes, noise will appear and
played back picture cannot be viewed.

Audio Mode
During P{i8/ 8 playback you can use the menu screen to select digital audio output .from 'the DV te.r:mina.l.
1 Set the CAM/OFF/VIDEO switch to VIDEO.
2 Press the M'ENU button.
% Press the PLAY or STOP
^ button to select "AUDIO
MODE.".
^ Press the RE'W or FF button to select the desired
mode:
1'6 BIT: For playback of higher quality stereo
sound.
12 BIT: Select this option to play back ordinary
stereo sound.

Note: AUTO is automatically set when digital 8
recorded
