Recording Still Pictures(Photo)(for VM-D975LA)
Using the PHOTO functioa you can record a still on Hid

tape: It takes approximately
6 seconds to record one still.
Approximately 450 stills can be recorded on a 120~minute tape

60 -minute tape

in the SP
mode, and approximately 675 stills, in the LPmode,
Connect the camcorder to a power source (See
pages p20).
2 Insert a cassette ("Inserting and Removing
Cassettes", p21).
If you want to viev/ the picture being recorded
on the 1X13 monitor, open the LCD monitor; if
you want to view the picture in the viewfinder,
leave the LCD monitor closed.
^ Make sure that the sub power switch is in the
^ PHOTO position.
^ Press the small button on the CAM/OFF/
VIDEO switch as you slide it to CAM. The lens
door will open automatically. "PITOTO #11"
appears in the viewfinder or on the LCD moni¬
tor and the camcorder is now ready to record.

When you are ready to record, press the
Start/Stop button. "11" will disappear,
will appear, and the record indicator will light.
The camcorder will record the image displayed
at the moment you press Start/Stop as a still for
8 seconds.

g When a 8-secon.d still recording is finished, " 11"
will appear again. The camcorder will enter the
standby status, you can now record another still
if you want.
2 After recording, slide the C.AM/OFF/VIDEO
switch to OFF position to turn off the cam¬
corder.
Note: You cannot change the mode or setting
in the menu while you are recording a stili.
Note: You cannot record a stiil during setting or
operation of the foliowing functions:
- Special Effects
- Fade
Note: Do not shake the camcorder Vv^hen
recording of a still or mosaioilke noise may be
recorded in the picture,
Note: '-'TAPE" flashes in the viewfinder or on the
LCD rr^onitor vyhen the tab on the side of the
cassette is completely visible.
Note: "TAPE END" flashes in the viewfinder or
on the LCD monitor when about 3 rriinutes or
less remain of the tape cassette.
Note: If the record/pause miode continues for
more than 6 minutes, the camcorder power will
automatically turn off, To turn on again, press
the Stcirt/Stop button on the camcorder: The
camcorder v/ili reenter the record/pause
(standby)
mode.
However,
Pressing
the
START/STOP button on remote control will not
return the camcorder to the record/pause
(standby) mode.
