Apply moderate thumb pressure (approxi-
mately 98N, 10kg,22lbs) midway between
pulloys, arrd check the deflection
NOTE
lf the drive belt becomes worn, cracked or
lraycd, it should be replaced.
WARNINGI
Keep hair, loose clothing, neckties, neck-
laces, etc. away from drive belts especially
when the engine is running. ALWAYS RE
MOVE ALL TOOLS from the engine com'
partment before attempting to start the
engine. Any of the above items could be-
come entangled in the belts and cause se-
vere injury to yourself and/or damage to your
v e h i c l e ,
Alternator drlve belt
1. Loosen the alternator mountino bolt and
adjusting bar bolt
2. Move the alternator lo obtarn proper belt
tension.
3. Tighten the bolts and rechcck the tension.
Air pump drive belt
1. Loosen the air pump mounting bolt and
adjusting bar bolt.
2. Move the air pump to obtain proper belt
tension.
3. Tighten the bolts and recheck the tension.
