402 Driving and parking
At speeds below approx. 60 km/h, and depending
on the vehicle equipment level, the vehicle can be
raised manually to an off-road level (

Operation with a trailer or bicycle rack: if
transport equipment, such as a trailer or a
bicycle rack, is attached to the trailer hitch
and the electrical connection has been cor-
rectly established, the curve inclination func-
tion is deactivated and the vehicle always
remains at normal level in all drive programs
with the exception of F. In drive program
F, the vehicle is lowered above speeds of
approx. 30 km/hto normal level.

Car wash level is 30 mm higher than the maxi-
mum vehicle level (off-road level). Observe the
increased height of the vehicle in car wash
mode particularly when driving into under-
ground car parks in order to avoid potential
damage.

System limits
E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL may not be available or
have only limited availability in the following
cases:
The overheating protection has been activated

due to frequent level changes within a short
time. The Á warning lamp appears in the
driver's display.
After the cooling phase, the system is again
available without restriction.
▌Function of ROAD SURFACE SCAN

This function is not available in all countries.
The ROAD SURFACE SCAN function monitors the
road in front of your vehicle using a multifunction
camera ( page 343). ROAD SURFACE SCAN
/
detects unevenness in the road surface, e.g.
bumps, before the vehicle drives over them. Chas-
sis movements are reduced and driving comfort is
increased.
ROAD SURFACE SCAN is automatically activated
if the following conditions are met:
Drive program A or N is selected .
