Mounting the router on a workbench
IMPORTANT:
To mount the router on a workbench, follow these guidelines:
• Make sure the workbench is clean, stable, and reliably grounded.
• Enable a minimum clearance of 100 mm (3.94 in) around the chassis for heat dissipation.
• Do not place heavy objects on the router.
To mount the router on a workbench:
1.
Place the router upside down on the workbench.
2.
Attach the rubber feet to the four round holes in the chassis bottom.
3.
Place the router on the workbench with the top panel facing up.

Grounding the router
CAUTION:
• Correctly connecting the grounding cable is crucial to lightning protection and EMI protection.
Before using the router, make sure the router is reliably grounded.
• Connect the grounding cable to the grounding system in the equipment room. Do not connect it
to a fire main or lightning rod.
Grounding method for rack mounting
CAUTION:
The grounding point on the rack must be connected securely to a grounding strip in the equipment
room.
To ground the router when it is mounted in a rack:
1.
Remove the grounding screw from the grounding point on the router.
2.
Use the grounding screw to attach the ring terminal (M4) of the grounding cable to the
grounding point on the router.
3.
Connect the ring terminal (M8) at the other end of the grounding cable to the grounding point on
the rack.
