4. KDS-100 Configuration
・ Text
Enter a message for the setup screen if you selected
Text from the List.
Each line will appear on the KDS-100; the first line will
appear as the first line on the setup screen. You can
enter up to 40 characters for each line.
If you do not enter anything, no characters will appear.
The configurations of "Lines of Text" or "Lines"
3.4.4.}
will not affect the setup screen; the setup screen
always has 6 lines.
・ Bitmap
Select the bitmap picture from the bitmap file stored in
the PC. You can upload an original bitmap file even
though you can only select from the setup screen
KENWOOD FPU as default.
The maximum size of the picture is 240 (Width) x 64
(Length) pixels with two colours. A warning message
appears if you select a larger image or an image with
more than two colours.
・ Lines of Text
Set the number of displayed text lines here. You can
select 3 lines, 5 lines, or 6 lines. The options are the
same as the terminal settings.
・ Time Format
Set the time diplay of the KDS-100. When selecting
[12H], the display will be displayed in 12 hours. If you
select [24H], the display will be displayed in 24 hours.
・ Date Format
Set the date display of the KDS-100. When selecting
[Month/ Day], the month will be displayed first, followed
by the day. If you select [Day/ Month], the day will be
displayed first, followed by the month.
・ Display a new message upon receipt
This command allows you to select the display that
appears when receiving a new message.
ON: The display switches to the message receipt
display.
OFF: The display does not change.
Note: When selecting OFF, the new message receipt
icon appears in the right corner of the window.
・ Display the caller identity
This command allows you to display the sender of the
message in Message List mode.
ON:
The sender of the message is displayed in
Message List mode.

OFF: The sender of the message is not displayed.
Note: ID name configured at the ID List command of
KPG-71D is displayed as the sender of the message.
ID, Fleet will appear when ID name is not configured.
・ Display the target unit's identity in the [STATUS]
List
This command allows you to display the recipient.
ON: The recipient is displayed.
OFF: The recipient is not displayed.
This configuration affects the Status message
transmission from the Menu mode or Message List
mode.

If you select the checkbox, the recipient of the currently
selected message appears at the top line of the
display. When you deselect the checkbox, the recipient
will not appear. This configuration will not affect the
Status List mode.
・ Display the current Status message in the ID List
This command allows you to display the currently
selected status message.
ON: The status message appears
OFF: The status message does not appear..
This configuration is effective on the Status message
transmission in the Menu mode.
Making a Status call in Menu mode}
checkbox, the currently selected status message
appears on the top line of the display.
When you deselect the checkbox, the status message
will not appear.
・ LCD Brightness
Configure the brightness of the KDS-100 display
backlight.
Default Level: Choose the set up screen brightness
from four levels. After the KDS-100 is set up, you can
adjust the brightness from Terminal settings [DIMMER]
selection. The brightness configured at the Terminal
settings is applied when the KDS-100 restarts. This
configuration is the same as the [DIMMER] in the
Terminal Settings.

Accessory Input Dimmer Level:
Configure the brightness of the display when the input
signal of accessory connectors dimmer input pin is
high. This configuration has priority over the
configuration at default level.
