7 About KPG-71D
71D}: Allows you to display the KPG-71D
version.
Although you can perform the same operations
from the Menu, the tool bar allows you to quickly
perform operations with one click of the mouse.
Refer to the description sections for detailed
operation information.
View allows you to display or hide the tool bar.

4.2.1.3. Status bar

The status bar displays the current status.
1 The current communication protocol.

These displays change corresponding to the
KPG-71D operations and the OS.

The View command allows you to display or hide
the tool bar.

4.2.2. Configuring The KDS-100
Following are the procedures required to create a new
configuration file and upload the configurations to the
KDS-100. Ensure that all hardware communications
are not operating.
1 Create a new setting file by using the Files
command.

2 Configure the communication protocol by using the
Model command.
{Refer to 4.2.3.2.}
3 Adjust the configuration by using the Edit
command.

4 Configure the serial port by using the Setup
command.

5 Upload the configurations to the KDS-100 by using
the Program command.
Some procedures are not always necessary. For
example, you need to configure the communication
protocol and the serial port just once. If you change
the operating
environment,
a new transceiver, you need to adjust the configuration
again. Other operations are required to read the
configurations from the KDS-100 or saved files.

4.2.3. Command description
You can perform all operations of the KPG-71D from
the Menu. This section explains the operations of each
command.

4.2.3.1. Files

This command allows you to create a new
configuration file, save and load configuration files,
print out the configuration, configure the print
format, and quit the KPG-71D. The pull-down
menu appears when selecting this command.

New

Select "New" from the pull-down menu to create a new
configuration file. All the previously created data will be
deleted.
A message appears asking you to finish the operation,
after you finish executing the command. Select "OK" to
continue creating a new configuration data and "Cancel"
to abort.
A message appears asking you to save the
configuration data. There are three options: [Yes], [No],
or [Cancel].
[Yes]: The same display appears as when you
execute the "Save as" command.
Save as}
If you select "Cancel", the new
configuration data will be created and the current
configuration data will not be saved.
[No]: This option allows you to create new
configuration data and the current configuration data
will not be saved.
[Cancel]: This option allows you to abort creating
the new configuration data.

Open

Select "Open" from the pull-down menu to load the
saved configuration data.
The following display appears and allows you to select a
file to load.
