• Make sure that the workpiece is pressed firmly
against the stop bar.
• Push the workpiece slowly from right to left against
the direction of rotation of the cutter tool.
• Keep the feed speed constant. Do not push too fast,
this would slow down the motor too much.
• If you push too fast, you could get a poor quality cut.
This could also damage the cutter tool or the motor.
• If you push too slowly, burn marks could appear on
the workpiece.
• With very hard wood and large cuts, it may be nec-
essary to do more than one working step to achieve
the desired depth.
• The correct feed rate depends on the cutter size,
the material type of the workpiece and the cutting
depth. Practise with a piece of waste material first to
find the right feed speed and dimensions.

12. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and ready
for operation. The connection complies with the appli-
cable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as the ex-
tension cable used must also comply with these reg-
ulations.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is often
damaged.
This may have the following causes:
• Pressure points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
• Kinks where the connection cable has been improp-
erly fastened or routed.
• Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over.
• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the wall
outlet.
• Cracks due to the insulation ageing.
Such damaged electrical connection cables must not
be used and are life-threatening due to the insulation
damage.
Check the electrical connection cables for damage
regularly. Ensure that the connection cables are dis-
connected from electrical power when checking for
damage.

The printing of the type designation on the connection
cable is mandatory.
Connection type M
Connection method, in which the connection cable can
be easily replaced without the aid of a special tool, us-
ing a special cable, for example with moulded bending
protection sleeve or crimped connections.
For single-phase AC motors, we recommend a fuse
rating of C 16A or K 16A for products with a high start-
ing current (from 3000 watts)!
• The product fulfils the requirements of EN 61000-
3-11 and is subject to special connection require-
ments. This means that use at any freely selectable
connection points is not permitted.
• Given unfavourable conditions in the power supply
the product can cause the voltage to fluctuate tem-
porarily.
• The product is only intended for use at connection
points that
a) do not exceed a maximum permissible mains im-
pedance "Z" (Zmax. = 0.241 Ω), or
b) have a mains constant current carrying capacity
of at least 100 A per phase.
• As the user, you are required to ensure, in consulta-
tion with your electric power company if necessary,
that the connection point at which you wish to oper-
ate the product meets one of the two requirements,
a) or b), named above.
