Using RDS Functions
PTY Function
The PTY function enables you to select stations
by the type of programming they broadcast
(PTY Search). it also provides automatic tuning
for emergency broadcasts (PTY Alarm).
PTY Search Setting Function
1. Press button 8 for 2 seconds or longer.
The "PTY" indicator lights and the name of a
programming type appears on the display for 5
seconds.
Note: CURRENT sets desired PTY to the
program type of the current station (only
for RDS stations broadcasting PTY
information).
2. Use the (~€) or (>) buttons or (44) or (>)
buttons to select one of the following PTYs:

. AFFAIRS: Topical programs expanding upon
the news.
2. CLASSICS: Serious classics; performances
of major orchestral works.
3. CULTURE: Programs concerned with any
aspect of national or regional culture.
. DRAMA: All radio plays and serials.
. EASY MUS: "Easy listening" music.
. EDUCATE: Educational programs.
. INFO: General information and advice
on nun A
. L. CLASS: Light classics; classical music for
non-specialist appreciation.
9. NEWS: Short accounts of facts, events,
publicly expressed views, reportage, etc.
10. OTH MUS:Other types of music, such as,
Jazz, R & B, Folk, Country, Reggae.
11. POP MUS: Commercial music of popular
appeal
12. ROCK MUS: Contemporary modern music
13. SCIENCE: Programs about nature, science,
and technology.
14. SPORT: Programs concerned with any aspect
of sports.
