manual flash control.

The 480 EG can be set manually to three flash
power levels: full power, 1/4 power and 1/16 power.
* Use the Synchro Cord 480. The TTL Shoe
Cord E cannot be used for manual flash
shooting. Refer to Page 20 for connection.
a. Set the MANUALyAUTO Selector to the
MANUAL position.
b. Set the film speed mark to the appropriate film
speed (ISO) in the ISO Film Speed Display
Window.
c. Set the manual flash power level using the
Manual Rash Output Level Selector. The guide
number for the film speed you are using appears
in the G.N. Display Window.
^ Use only settings Indicated by the white
marks. If you use a setting between the white
marks, the correct flash exposure cannot be
set.

* Be sure to use the same units (meters or feet)
for guide numbers as well as flash-to-subject
distance.
' Immediately after the pilot lamp lights, the
batteries are not fully charged, so open the
aperture by 1/2 or 1 extra stop.
' The guide number varies according to film
speed, and also if the Wide Panel or Tele Panel
is used. (Refer to Section VII. "Wide Panel/Tele
Panel Photography.")
* Do not take more than 20 full power flashes

Au cas ou une prise de vue ^ commande d'exposition
n'est pas appropriee ou pour ajouter une touche
personnelle, utiliser la commande manuelle.
Le 480 EG peut etre r6gl6 manuellement sur trois
niveaux cte puissance de flash: Pleine puissance, 1/4 et
1/16.
* Utiliser le cable de synchronisation 480. Le cable
TTL E ne peut pas etre utilise pour une prise de
vue manuelle au flash. Se reporter page 20 pour
le raccordement
a. Rdgler le s61ecteur MANUAL/AUTO sur la position
MANUAL.
b. Rdgler le rep^re de sensibilitd du film sur la vitesse
appropri6 (ISO).
c. Regler le niveau de puissance du flash manuelle ^
I'aide du s61ecteur de niveau de sortie de flash
manuelle. Le nombre-guide pour la vitesse du film
utilisde apparatt dans la fen&ire d'affichage G.N.
* N^utiliser que les r^lages indiqu^s par les
reperes blancs. Lors d'un r6glage entre les
rcpcres blancs, I'exposition du flash correcte nc
peut pas etre r6glee.
d. Select M (Manual) mode on your camera, and
set the desired shutter speed (from maximum
flash'synchronized speed to 30 seconds or
Bulb).
