Troubleshooting of Minor Faults
If repairs are necessary, and you
cannot eliminate the fault yourself with
the aid of the following table:
TO AVOID RISK OF ELECTRIC
SHOCK!
Repairs should only be carried out
by an authorized technician.
Turn the program selector to Off.
Disconnect the washing machine
from the power outlet.
Turn off the water taps.
Call Customer Service
(refer to Page 22).
Fault
Thedoor cannotbe
opened.
Doorcannotbe opened,
eventhoughthe appliance
has beenswitchedoff and
on again.
Controllightsdo notlight
up.
Programdoesnotstart.
Start/Pause indicatorlight
flashes.
Programdoesnotstar.
Indicatorlight "end" is lit.

Waterdoesnot enterthe
machineor detergentisnot
washedaway.

Possible cause
Powerfailure.
Programis runningand/orthe door is lockedfor safety
reasons.
Plugis looseor notinse_ted.
Program selectorturnedto Off beforeend of program.
Forsafetyreasons the door hasbeen lockedbecause the
waterlevel,temperature or speedis too high.
A fuse has blown.
Powerfailure.
Stair/Pause buttonnot pressed.
Doornotclosedproperly.
Detergent w as dampor lumpy.
Watertap(s)notturnedon.
Action
An interrupted programwill be resumedwhenpoweris
restored.If the laundryis to be removed during a power
failure,call Customer Service
(referto Page22).
Wait untilthe programends;see Page17.
Eliminate the cause.
Selecta program.

Replace the fuse of the individual c ircuit.
CallCustomer Service if this fault recurs.

Pressthe Start/Pause button.
Supplyhosekinkedor pinched.
Strainers in supplyhoseclogged.
Waterpressure too low.
This is not a fault.
Thewater levelis belowthe visiblepartof the drum.
Sudsor pumpis blocked.
Thethreadof the supplyhoseis not tight.
Leakin the drain hose.
Checkwhetherlaundryis trappedin door.
Closethe door(a click shouldbe heard).
Programcontinues.
Clean and dry the detergent dispenser; see Page 18.
Use the cap of the detergent bottle to measure liquid
detergents.
Turnon watertap(s)and pressStart/Pause button.
Programcontinues.
Eliminate the cause.
Cleanthe water inletstrainers;seePage18.
Eliminate the cause.
Uselessdetergent f or future wash loads. Detergents
specifically designedfor youHighEfficientcy washerpro-
ducefewer sudsand will includethe letters "HE"on the
packaging.Cleanthe water drainagepipeand/ordrain
hose.Turnthe programselectorto "off" and restartBrain
program.
Tighten the thread.
Replacethe drain hose.
