1.S-VHS mode
Setting the S-VHS/VHS mode switch
1. Open the function box cover by pushing the unlock lever.
2. Set the S-VHS switch as required.
S-VHS mode: Set switch to AUTO.
VHS mode _: Set switch to OFF.

S-VHS ON : Steady light

2. Audio input
e Audio input channel-1 (L) select switch
CAM:
To record the L channel of the microphone input
LINE : To record the audio channel-1 (L) (XLR 3- pin) input
e Audio input channel-2 (R) select switch
CAM : To record the R channel of the microphone input
LINE : To record the audio channel-2 (R) (XLR 3-pin) input
AUD-1 : To record the audio channel-1 (L) input on channel-
2 as well. Set to this position when an monaural
microphone is used.
3. Audio level adjustment with audio line input
Set the audio channel-1
(L)/channel-2 (R) fine input level
select switch as follows.

>=: For +4 dBs line level input
-60
:
For-60 dBs microphone level input
4. Hi-Fi/Normal sound
Set the Hi-Fi REC select switch.
ON
: To record on the normal audio tracks only
OFF
: To record on the Hi-Fi audio tracks only
5. Dolby NR on/off
Set the Dolby NR on/off switch.
ON
: For recording/playback with Dolby noise reduction
OFF
: Dolby noise reduction off
6. Recording level
Set the recording level select switch.
MANU : Set to this position when adjusting the level manu-
ally with the recording level controls.
FIX
=: To record with standard gain. When the level of
signal input is excessive, the limiter is activated to
prevent distortion. In this position, the recording
level controls are not operate.
7. Assemble recording
Set the AEF select switch.
NORM:
AEF is activated for preroll assemble recording with
noiseless scene transitions. It takes longer to re-
start recording from the Record-Pause mode.
QUICK: AEF preroll works partially for quick recording start
from the Record-Pause mode. Scene transitions ar
e blurred.

8. Auto Review function
Set the AUTO REVIEW switch.
ON:
Reverse plays the tape from the Record-Pause mode
and plays for approximately 3 seconds, then enters
the Record-Pause mode again. For reviewing the
last-recorded section.
OFF : This function is not available.
