Switch on at the mains supply socket.
Video display after connecting the mains supply.
(Note:
The VCR will be in the standby mode at
this stage.)
If the display shows as in step 4 (TV programme
number appears ), press the button
1
on the
VCR once.
Switch on your TV and select an unused
programme number.
i.e. one not used for BBC1,
ITV, etc.
(Please consult your TV operating guide
as your TV may have a special VCR programme
number which must be used.)
Note:
This programme number will be your VCR
programme from now on.
Press the [> button (Note: The VCR is still in
the standby mode) and
"t£
5£" appears in the
display as shown.
Tune your TV (consult your TV instruction
manual) until the test pattern shown appears.
The correct tuning position is when the picture is
clear.
Ensure this programme is stored in your
Press the [> button again, the test pattern will
disappear and the VCR will now come out of the
standby mode into the operate mode.
You should now be able to play-back a
prerecorded cassette.
Insert the cassette carefully (see page 17 for
CASSETTE TAPES).
If the safety tab is removed
then play-back will start immediately, if not press
Safety Tab
the [> button and the picture will appear on the
screen.
If you cannot tune your TV correctly to the test
signal, or there is patterning in the signal, it may
be necessary to change the VCR's RF channel.
Slightly turn the RF CHANNEL ADJ control at the
rear of your VCR with a small screwdriver.
Retune your TV.
If the test signal has not
improved, turn the screw a little more and re-tune
your TV again.
Continue to adjust the screw in
either direction, re-tuning your TV each time, until
Screwdriver
a clear test picture received.
