Remote operations
The infrared remote control handset is powered
by two batteries (size IEC standard R6). The life of
the batteries is about a year although this
depends on the number of times the handset is
used.
Replace the batteries when operation is not
possible or when the operating distance becomes
too small.

To operate this VCR with the remote control
handset, press the VCR 1/2/TV select button on
the handset to display "VCR 1" or "VCR 2", then
point it at the receiver on the front of the VCR.

© and @ buttons can control your
VCR even if "TV" is displayed when the
"REMOTE CODE" display (see page 41 for
details) is set to [1] or [-}.
* This VCR is designed so it can be controlled
when either "VCR 1" or "VCR 2" is selected (see
page 41).
Note:
Be sure to press the mark (>, <I, co,
(_)) of the tape transport button on the remote
control to operate the VCR, not the centre of the
button. Pressing the centre of the button could
cause a malfunction.

The remote control handset provided is designed
to operate up to two types of Hitachi VCRs and 14
different types of TV.
* Refer to page 52 when using the handset to
operate the TV.
* For dubbing your own tapes, as an example,
the recording VCR and playback VCR can be
controlled by a single handset. In order to
operate two VCRs, set this VCR's remote code
to "VCR 2", and the other VCR to "VCR 1",
following the "REMOTE CODE [1], [2] or [-]"
section on page 41.
