Scenario 2: Hot plugging power supply modules
To replace a powers supply module with a different type of module or install a power
supply module in an empty slot, do the following:

Using a Torx T10 screwdriver, hand-tighten the screws on the power supply
module to secure it to the chassis.
Check the I and O LEDs on the module. If both LEDs are green, the power supply
module is receiving and distributing power.
Turn off power to the device and wait approximately two minutes for any
remaining energy to dissipate.
Remove the blank power supply module.
Insert the power supply module into the empty slot.
