Press either of these buttons.

During playback if STEP (<1 or 11m) on the remote control
unit is pressed, the picture will be frozen.
At this point, the
disc can be played one frame at a time in either the forward
or reverse direction by pressing one of these buttons. The
soundis muted during still frame or frame advance operation.
To return to normal operation, press PLAY >.
e@ Front panel PLAY/STILL »/1I is also used to display the
still frame.
Use frame advance to watch pictures one frame at a time
Set to still picture.
Image moves

During playback, the playback direction can be changed with

With + and — buttons, the playback speed can be changed
from x 3 to 1/90 the normal playback speed.

If playback automatically switches to still frame display mode.
If a disc containing special signals called "picture stop codes" is
played
at x1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/30, or 1/90 speed, playback
pauses automatically whenever the unit encounters a frame where
@ picture stop code is encoded, and the still picture of that frame is
displayed on the monitor screen. To move from that position, press
PLAY m or MULTI-SPEED </>.

If the PSC (Picture Stop Cancel) button on the front panel has been
pressed, the playback does not stop on the frame containinga picture
stop code but continues. When the PSC button is pressed, " Picture
Stop OFF" is displayed on the screen for approx. 2 seconds. When
the PSC button is pressed again, "Picture Stop ON" is displa yed and
a still image will be displayed at the frame containing a picture stop
code.
