CONFIGURING THE REMOTE

Thelearning process requires t hatboththe device's
original remote andtheAVRremote be available.
Beforepressing anybuttons on eitherremote, place
themsothatthe IRt_ansmitter on theremote from the
device to be programmed i s facingthe InfraredLens
onthe AVRremote. The1weremetes shouldbe
no morethanan inchapart,andthereshouldnot be
anydirectsunlight o r otherbrightlightsourcenearthe
remotes.
LearningKeysfor an Entire DeviceRemote
1. Press andholdthe ProgramButton _
for
aboutthreeseconds whilethemessage shown
inFigure 24 appears inthe remote's LCD
Information DisplayO.
Release t he button
whenthe redlightunderthe Set Button
appears.
2.Theremote's MaIN MEtIU message (Fig. 2 5),
willappear i nthe LCDdisplay andthe Set Button
willremainilluminated i n red.Press the •

to stopthe process, it ispossible thatsome
remotes mayusecodesequences o r infrared fre
quencies thatarenot compablewiththeAVR
remote, andthosecodescannotbe learned.
Whenthedisplay showninFigure 41 appears,
press the Set Button _
to exitthe Learning
system.

Learning Codes for an Input Selector
TheAVR435's remote allows youto learn a specific
codeto beattached to oneof the InputSelectors
_]_ sothatwhenever thatbuttonis pressed, y ouwill
netonlybeselecting thatdevice asthe AVR's input
andtelling the remote to usethe remote codesthat
have beenprogrammed to belong to thatdevice, i t also
allowsyouto havethatspecial c odetransmitted, as
well.Thisallows youto havean input(orothercorn
mand) sentto a display sothatwhenvideosources
aredirectly connected to thedisplay, youcanauto
matically c ommand it to switchto thesameinput
selected for theA\/R.
