MacroButtons:Press t hesebuttons to store or
recall a "Macro", whichisa preprogrammed sequence
of commands s toredintheremote. ( See page46 for

OSDButton:Press thisbuttonto activate or turn
off theOn-Screen D isplay ( OSD) system usedto setup
or adjust t he AVR435's parameters.
Night Mode Button:Press thisbuttonto acti
vatethe Nightmode. Thismodeisavailable i nspecially
encoded DolbyDigital s ources, andit preserves
dialogue (center c hannel) i ntelligibility at low volume
levels.
ToneControlButton:Thisbutton controls the
tonemodesettings, enabling adjustment of the bass
andttebleboost/cut. Y oumayalsouseit to takethe
tonecontrols out of thesignalpathcompletely f or
"flat"response. Thefirstpressof the buttondisplays a
t 0 NE T N message inthe Lower DisplayLine
[]
andinthe on-screen display. Totakethe controls
out of thesignalpath,presseitherofthe ,A,/V

AM/FM Button:Pressthisbuttonto selectthe
AVR435's tunerasthe listening choice. P ressi%this
buttonwhenthe tuneris already inusewillselect
belween the AMandFMbands.
TuningUp/DownButton:Press thisbutton
whenthetuneris inuseto change thestationto one
witha higher o r lower % quency. W henthetuneris in
the I1A NU AL / 11 0 N 0 mode, e achtap of the
Selector w ill increase o r decrease t he frequency b y
oneincrement. Whenthetunerreceives a strong-
enough signal f oradequate reception, 1 1 A NU AL
T UN El) willappear i nthe Lower DisplayLine
[] andinthe on-screen display. Whenthe tuneris in
the AU T 0 / S T E RE 0 mode,pressthe button
once,andthe tunerwillscanfor a station withaccept
ablesignal s trength. Whenthenexthighepor Iowep
frequency station witha strong-enough signalistuned,
the frequency scan will stopandthe Lower Display
Line []

an A / V SY NC I) E L A Y message inthe Lower
DisplayLine [] andinthe on-screen display, which
means thatyou maychange theamount o f timethat
all channels a redelayed together b ehindthevideo.
Thisenables youto compensate f orthe lossof lip
syncthatmaybe caused bydigital v ideoprocesaing
inyourdisplay or bytelevision stations. Tochange
