Tuner Operation
TheAVR435'stuneriscapable oftuning AM.FMand
FMStereo broadcast staaons. Stal_ons maybe tuned
manually, or theymaybestoredasfavorite stationpre
setsandrecalled froma 30 position memory.
Station Selection
1. Press the AM/FMTunerSelectorButton
onthe remote to selectthe tunerasan input. T he
tunermaybe selected fromthefrontpanelby
either p ressing the Input SourceSelector[]
untilthetuneris active or bypressing the Tuner
BandSelectorl_4J.
2. Press theAM/FMTunerSelectButton _ or
TunerBandSelector[] againto switchbelween
AM andFMsothatthe desired frequency bandis
selected.
3. Press t heTuningModeSelector[] _ to select
manual or automatic t uning.
When the buttonis pressed sothatA UT 0 /
ST EI_E 0 appears inthe UpperDisplayLine
[]. eachpressof theTuningSelectorsl_ll_t.
will putthe tunerina scanmodethatseeks the
nexthigheror lowerfrequency s tation withaccept-
ablesignalstrength. An AU T 0 ST T UN E1)

station stopsat a stereoFMstation, a ndan

the frequency byoneincrement. Whenthe tuner
receives a strongenough signal f oradequate

Thiswill alsoactivate manual tuningmode.
PresetTuning
Using the remote, up to 30 stations m aybe stored inthe
,_,/R 435'8memory foreasy recall u sing thefrontpanel
conllols or theremote.
Toenterastation intothe memo% fimt t unethestation
using the steps outlined a bove. T hen:
1. Press t he MemoryButton@ on theremote; the
station's f requency willflash.
2.Within fiveseconds, press the NumericKeys0
cowesponding to thelocation where youwish to store
thisstaaon's h equency. Once entered, thepreset
number w illappear i ntheUpperDisplayLine [].
3. Repeat theprocess after t uning anyaddillona]
stations t o be preset.
Recalling PresetStations
• Tomanually select a station previously entered inthe
preset m emory, press the NumericKeys_ that
correspond to thedesired station's m emory
location.
• Tomanually tunethrough thelistof stored preset s ta-

Recording
Innormal o peration, the audioor videosoume
selected for listening through theAVR435 issentto
the record outputs. T hismeans thatanyprogram you
arewatching or listening to maybe recorded simply
byplacing machines c onnected t o the outputs for
TapeOutputs_, or Videol/Video 2 Audioand
VideoOutputs_)_)_ intherecordmode.
