Overview of System Board Components

A -
External Audio Socket
Situated at the rear of the motherboard, this has three 3.5mm jack sockets. The blue
socket is the line in, the green socket is line out and the pink is the mic.
B – USB and LAN
This provides 2 USB ports as well as a 10/100 Ethernet port.
C – USB
This provides 2 addition USB ports.
D – LPT, Serial and a VGA ports
This allows a printer to be connected. The serial port allows a serial device to be
attached such as external modem. The VGA port allows a monitor to be attached
using the on board graphics hardware.
E – PS/2 keyboard and mouse
Allows a PS/2 mouse and keyboard to be attached.
F – 4-pin ATX power connector
Provides additional power to the AGP Slot
G – Clock generator
Keeps the system in sync
H – North Bridge
The SIS ® 611FX provides the processor interface with 800/533/400 MHz frequency,
support for Intel ® Hyper-Threading Technology, system memory interface at
266MHz operation, and 1.5V AGP interface that supports AGP 2.0 specification
including 8x Fast Write protocol.
I – CPU fan connector
Allows a CPU fan to be connected.
