Operation
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in this documentation and on the product.
6.1
Notes on formation of burrs at the cut
Burrs on the cut length of threaded rod rarely form on the side close to the movable cutting arm. On account
of the design of the product, burrs on the cut length of threaded rod tend to form more frequently on the
side close to the stationary cutting arm.
Burrs can also form if:
The threaded rod is not seated correctly in the thread of the cutting blades.
The cutting blades are in poor condition → page 12.
The thread of the threaded rod is uneven.
The securing screws of the cutting blades are not correctly tightened.
If a nut cannot be threaded on to the rod because of a burr remove the burr, for example with a pair of
nippers, a file or an adjustable threading die.

Operating threaded-rod cutter
In the cutting process, the thread in the cutting blade must be neatly engaged in the thread of the threaded
rod. This prevents damage to the thread of the threaded rod and to the cutting blades. Make sure that the
size of the threaded rod to be cut matches the size of the cutting blades.
1. Set the length of cut on the depth gauge. → page 11
2. Set the function selector switch to the
