L. Replacing the Switch
CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing.
1. Disassemble handle grip by removing the seven screws. (Fig. A.)
2. Remove leads from switch. (Fig. B.)
3. Connect the leads to the new switch as shown in Fig. C. The black wire from the motor cord goes
to the low speed side of the switch. The red wire from the motor cord goes to the high speed side of
the switch. The black wire from the power cord goes to the middle of the switch. For additional
assistance see the wiring diagram on page35.
4. Position the switch as shown in Fig. D.
5. Reassemble the handle being careful not to pinch any wires.
6. Push the switch into place until it locks.
