A. Performance
1. Vacuum not cleaning floor surface.
Possible Cause
1. The belt is weak.
2. The brushes are worn.
3. The bag is full.
4.. The machine is clogged
2. Vacuum hard to push on deep pile carpet.
Possible Cause
1. The belt is stretched.
2. There is grime on the bottom plate.
3. The brushes are worn.
4. The wheels are not turning.
5. The bottom plate is out of place.
3. Belt wearing too fast or breaking constantly.
Possible Cause
1. The belt is defective.
2. The agitator bearing is seizing.
3. The motor shaft is contaminated.
4. Excessive vibration or loud noise
Possible Cause
1. An agitator bearing is damaged.
2. The agitator is out of balance.
5. Circuit Breaker Trips Constantly
Possible Cause
1. There is an obstruction in the
brushroll or motor fan.
2. The circuit breaker is weak from
repeated tripping.
3. The agitator is seizing up.
4. The motor is damaged or defective.
III. Troubleshooting
Replace the belt. See page 10, Replacing the Belt.
Flip the agitator end caps over so that the rounded side touches
the baseplate. See page 10, Replacing the Belt, Fig. D. This
will extend the life of the brushes by pushing them closer to
the cleaning surface.
Change the filter bag. See page 9, Replacing the Bag.
Remove the clog. See page 20, Removing a Clog
Replace the belt. See page 10, Replacing the Belt.
Clean the bottom plate.
Flip the agitator end caps over (see page 10, Replacing the
Belt) or replace the agitator.
Clean the axles. Lubricate the wheels with lithium grease.
Reposition the bottom plate.
Replace the belt. See page 10, Replacing the Belt.
Clean out the area around the bearing See page 12, C. Agitator
Maintenance. Replace the agitator if problem persists.
Clean the motor shaft.
Replace the agitator. See page 13, Replacing the Agitator
Replace the agitator. See page 13, Replacing the Agitator
Remove obstruction. See page 20, Removing Clogs.
Replace circuit breaker. See page 27, Replacing the Circuit
