N. Replacing the Motor Cord (Continued)
CAUTION: Unplug the vacuum cleaner before servicing
11. Connect wire leads from new motor cord. The white wire goes to the white wire from the power
cord. The black wire goes to the low speed side of the switch. The red wire goes to the high speed
side of the switch. For wiring assistance refer to the diagram on page 35.
12 Route the cord as shown in Fig. A and reinstall the screw and washer.
13. Line up the left side of the handle so that the screw bosses fit into the handle tube (Fig. B.)
14. Reassemble the grip being careful not to pinch any wires. Let the switch hang out the front of the
handle as shown in Fig. B and C.
15. Push the switch back into place so that it locks as shown in Fig. D.
