• Signs of widening of hooks, e. g. noticeable enlarge­
ment of the jaw size or the safety flap does not snap
into place and snaps past the hook tip.
• Damages such as: Cuts, notches, grooves, incipient
cracks, excessive corrosion, discolouration due to
heat influence, bent or twisted chain links or other
failures

14. Repair

The following repair measures may only be performed
by qualified persons with the necessary knowledge and
skills.
In the case of repair of the load chain, the chain is to
be replaced in its entire length. Parts that are broken,
visually deformed or stretched or severely corroded,
with deposits that cannot be removed (e. g. weld spat­
ter), deep cuts, notches, grooves, incipient cracks or
which are overheated, must be replaced. Missing safety
devices such as latches, triggers, pins or defective,
broken or deficient springs must be replaced. Only use
original PFEIFER spare parts and accessories of the
appropriate quality grade and nominal size when
replacing.
