WARNING!
Physical injuries and damage to property and the
environment caused by improper handling.
Incorrect opening or closing of a valve can lead to the escape
of media. Incorrect handling while mounting/dismounting the
valve can lead to a work accident and damage the product.
The operator must be aware of the consequences prior to
changing the state to a specific valve position.
Suitable lifting equipment must be used for the safe
handling of heavy products.
7.1 Maintenance
To prevent leakage or malfunction due to wear and seal degradation, the
operator must prepare a list for preventive maintenance and inspection.
The maintenance cycle depends on process media, environment condi-
tions and system working conditions.
Maintenance without dismounting
Perform a visual check:
Valve is in expected position.
Environment is vibration-free and clean.
Valve operation is not limited or obstructed.
Locate possible leakages
At the valve stem
At the process and instrument connections
Ensure that opening/closing of the valve(s) cannot lead to an unsafe
condition. Cycle the valve(s) a few times to prevent seizure.
Check tightening of every nut and threaded connection.
