The filament in the glass processor furnace generates intense light when it is in operation. It is
strongly advised that the user does NOT look directly at it during splicing or tapering operations.
The furnace gets extremely hot when the filament is turned on. Do not touch the furnace during or
immediately after the filament has been on for a few seconds, such as after a splice or tapering
