Fastening and Unfastening Buckles
To fasten: slide the male half into the female half (Figure
1-A) until it latches with an audible click. Always confirm
that the buckle is securely latched.
To unfasten: squeeze the buckle at the side-release
points (Figure 1-B) until the male half unlatches and
separates from the female half.
Adjusting Restraint Length
Adjust restraint straps to hold the patient securely in the
chair without impairing circulation or causing discomfort.
SHOULDER/CHEST AREA
To shorten: hold the adjuster slide at an angle to the
strap and pull the top layer of webbing upward through
the slide (Figure 2-A).
To lengthen: hold the adjuster slide at an angle to the
strap and pull the single layer of webbing downward
through the slide (Figure 2-A).
LAP AREA
To shorten: unfasten the lap buckle, hold it at an angle
to the strap, and pull the free end of the strap (Fig 2-B).
To lengthen: unfasten the lap buckle, hold it at an angle
to the strap, and pull the buckle to slide it along the strap
(Figure 2-B).
Attaching the Restraints
The buckles that join the torso areas of the straps to the
connector straps are tan color. The lap buckle is black.
1. Slide the looped end of one connector strap up
through one of the seat-panel slots.
2. Wrap the buckle end of the strap up around the seat
frame and thread it through the loop (Figure 3).
3. Pull the strap until it is tight around the seat frame.
4. Repeat Steps 1-3 to attach the second strap to the
opposite side of the chair (Figure 3).
