NOTE: Download the WEBER CONNECT app to access the latest barbecue software and
controller features.
The controller will display and send notifications to inform you of certain barbecue
operations and preventative maintenance cautions. Refer to this troubleshooting section and
follow the "Sequence/Actions" column associated with the notification displayed along with
the following instructions.
Sequence / Actions
Refill the hopper with WEBER SMOKEFIRE ALL NATURAL HARDWOOD PELLETS.
Your cooking session has ended. You now have the option to continue to cook at the same
barbecue temperature, change the barbecue temperature, or shutdown the barbecue.
The barbecue was improperly shutdown.
1. The barbecue will automatically run the shutdown procedure if the barbecue is still
hot. Open the barbecue lid and wait until the barbecue has completed the shutdown
procedure and completely cooled.
CAUTION: Do not unplug the barbecue or power it off during the shutdown procedure.
2. Once the shutdown procedure is complete, power off the barbecue and unplug from
the power source.
3. Remove the cooking grates, FLAVORIZER BARS, heat diffuser, and heat baffle from
the cookbox.
4. Clean the cookbox and burn pot of any ash or debris using a barbecue brush or
scraper to direct it into the ash and grease system.
CAUTION: Allow time for the ash and debris to fully extinguish before cleaning the barbecue.
5. Remove and clean any ash or grease from inside the ash and grease system. Once
cleaned, reinstall the drawer. Replace disposable drip pans as needed.
6. Reinstall the heat baffle, heat diffuser, FLAVORIZER bars and cooking grates inside
the cookbox.
7. Plug in, power on the barbecue, and begin a cooking session to allow the controller
to run diagnostics.
If you receive the Loss of Temperature notification, it is most likely due to lack of fuel.
1. Open the hopper lid to ensure there are enough pellets and visually inspect for pellet
stacking. If pellet stacking occurs, use the included scraper to push the pellets down
toward the auger.
2. Refill the hopper with WEBER SMOKEFIRE ALL NATURAL HARDWOOD PELLETS, and
close the hopper lid.
3. With the barbecue lid closed, your SMOKEFIRE barbecue will attempt to recover to
the set temperature.
CAUTION: The barbecue may produce some excessive smoke while recovering temperature.
As the barbecue recovers it will subside.
Shutdown Sequence:
1. Burning off excess fuel
2. Clearing the auger
3. Cleaning the burn pot of ash
4. Cooling the barbecue for storage
5. Shutdown Complete
CAUTION: The barbecue will remain hot during the shutdown sequence. Do not unplug the
barbecue or power it off during the shutdown procedure.
