3. Changing the trimming width
•
Six different cutting widths are available: 2.4 mm,
3.2 mm, 4 mm, 4.8 mm, 6.4 mm and 9.5 mm.
1) Detach throat plate ❶ (provided with throat plate
cloth chip cover ❷), presser foot ❸, gauge ❹
and feed dog ❺.
2) Loosen knife support setscrew ❻.
3) Attach the feed dog, gauge, presser foot and
throat plate cloth chip cover that match the re-
quired trimming width.
4) Turn the handwheel to bring cloth trimmer ❼ to
its lower end.
5) Lightly pressing the tip of trimmer ❼ against
surface A of the gauge, tighten trimmer support
setscrew ❻.
(If you want to increase trimming ability of the
cloth trimmer, it is advisable to tighten the gauge
setscrew ❽ while pressing it against the cloth
trimmer side with fingers.)
6) Loosen throat plate cloth chip cover setscrews
❾. Adjust the position of the throat plate cloth
chip cover so that its B surface enters 0 to 0.5
mm inside A surface of the gauge.
7) Tighten throat plate cloth chip cover setscrews
❾.
If you want to change the trimming width, match
the relevant parts with the changed trimming
width according to the replaceable parts list.
In the case of trimming width of 2.4 mm,
the wiper cannot be used.
