Problem
Editing a partition to enable encryption does not
complete successfully with media in the tape
drive. The LC may lock up during this process.
Cannot disable encryption from a partition once
the encryption key is deleted.
If Encryption Pro is enabled on the library, a key
is listed as "restore" only for a partition and a
tape with the restored key is inserted into the
tape drive, a write operation to the tape drive
with this tape inserted fails and locks up the tape
drive.
Updating tape drive firmware using the Package
Update option fails—the Package Update fails
with "Error: Unknown sense information 02, 08,
8F, 69 (cmd 0D, dst 02, state 0001273F)." The tape
drive firmware is updated and you are instructed
to click finish causing the library to power cycle.
During a tape drive replacement procedure, the
user is unable to navigate away from the Drive
screen.
If the tape drive goes offline, you may not be able
to navigate to the Configuration/Drives screen.
You may receive a "Could not get drive from
physical geometry" message.

Encryption
The library or LC will need to be rebooted to
recover. Once the library is booted up, remove all
cartridges from the tape drive(s), and edit the
partition to enable encryption.
If you have encryption configured in the
library, and you choose to stop using
encryption, you must first modify the partition
to disable encryption and then delete the
encryption key.
If you wish to change the encryption key,
delete the active encryption key, create a new
key, and modify the partition to use the new
key.
Reference the Spectra BlueScale Encryption User
Guide for recycling encrypted media.
The library must be power cycled to recover. All
media that was written to with the first key is
now READ ONLY. Do not attempt to write to or
append to the media that used a different
encryption key. Only one encryption key is
permitted per cartridge.
Tape Drives
The upgrade completed; click the finish button.
Complete the tape drive replacement and then
reboot the library.
Attempt "re-seating" the tape drive: access the
back of the library, unscrew the finger screws
securing the tape drive, pull the tape drive a short
distance out of the library, push it back into the
library, and tighten the screws. To see the drive
status, if a drive is impaired, navigate to
Configuration > Partitions.
