1. Daily Inspection

Perform the following checks before and
after use.
Item
• Check the amount of fuel in the tank.
Fuel System • Check for debris or water in the fuel filters.
• Check the rubber hoses for fuel leakage.
• Check that the stop switch functions normally and make sure
the lock plate is secured.
Electrical
Equipment
• Check cords for loose connections and damage.
• Check the spark plugs for dirt, wear and carbon build-up.
• Check the choke valve to make sure carburetor is functioning
normally.
Throttle
System
• Check if the carburetor is working normally by turning the
throttle grip.
• Check the rope for wear and chafing.
Recoil Starter
• Check the ratchet engagement.
• Check that clutch engages correctly when operating the shift
lever.
Clutch and
Propeller • Visually Check propeller for bent or damaged blades.
System
• Check the propeller nut is tightened and the split pin is in cor-
rect position.
• Check all the bolts attaching the motor to the boat.
Installation of
Motor
• Check the thrust rod installation.
• After starting the outboard motor, make sure that water is
Cooling Water
being discharged from the cooling water check port.
• Check that there are tools and spare parts for replacing spark
Tools and
plugs, the propeller, etc.
Spares
• Check that you have the spare rope.
Steering • Make sure that remote control is functioning normally.
Devices
• Check if the anode is securely installed.
Other parts
• Check the anode for corrosion and deformation.

could result in severe damage to the motor
or severe personal injury.
