Introduction

About This Guide

This guide describes the procedure to follow to upgrade firmware in a 64K, 20K, and

12K library. Have the code (through remote update, on a USB device, or for older

libraries, using disks).

Refer to release notes before starting this procedure, as additional steps may be

required for some firmware updates. This is especially important when installing

firmware updates that upgrade the library to support a new generation of drives (such

as AIT-3 to AIT-5).

Caution:

Do not interrupt the AC power or reset the library during the

firmware loading process; the code will be corrupted and the

library will not operate.

Estimated Time Required

This procedure should take less than 20 minutes.

Materials and Tools Required

• Access to Spectra Logic update (access to the code across the network, USB

device, and floppy drive)
